Perceptions that Christians are perfect people

Is it true that there is a perception that Christians are perfect people? I mean in general terms, Christians are good people who cares about people, holy, righteous and does nothing wrong. In reality however, it may not be true and when people sees that, they say he / she is a Christian and he / she still does that thing and nothing is different about them. Christians are not perfect people. I am a Christian and sometimes I make mistakes. Without me knowing it, what I say may or do may have hurt or disappointed some people even though they did not say so. It happened or happens indirectly. What we said or do as a joke or laugh to someone may not be reflected in the other person's feelings. Sometimes, even the simplest joke or ejek about that person may cause him to be unhappy with us. If you are very close with them, then maybe yes and they are ok with it but if they are not, then it's not very good. The Best Selling Secrets (同事三分親)R1 has an episode on this. Two of the previous staff who were just married to each other came to see Mo Kei Yong and the rest of the office staff including Marco, Luk Jit, Kawaii and the rest. Mo Kei Yong, Marco and two other colleagues cracked jokes about both of them. They seemed to laugh together but after a while, they left. The husband came earlier and then left with the intention of going to the toilet. The same goes for his wife. Only Luk Jit & Kawaii did not laugh at them. We can see how people would react to it. Some people can accept it. Some people could not. As Christians, we need to be sensitive to others too. Christians are not perfect. In the NIV version of Romans 3:10 in the Bible, this is the word of God. As it is written; no one is righteous, not even one. We however accepts and believes Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. We believe that Jesus died for our sins about 2000 years ago and rose again on the third day. Therefore, in God's eyes, we are justified and made right with Him. In God's eyes, our sins are forgiven. He died once for all and for all whether our sins were in the past, present or in the future. Do you think that after becoming Christians, we will have no sin? No! There are a few differences between Christians and others. It is about the way Christians live. We are told in the Bible in Mark 24:15-16: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all you soul and all your strength and all your minds (NIV) R2. We are told to put other's first and care for others. In believing God, we also do and say things in the mindset of everything that we do or say is for God's glory. By doing so, it is not an obligation to work or study or the rest but it is a service to God. God likes us to use our skills and abilities to serve Him. Galatians 5:23 also talks about the fruit of the spirit. Below is the verse: Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (NIV). Against such things there is no law.R2 Being a Christian changes me. I am very patient now and have very good self control. The Holy Spirit is with me and changes my mind about life and enables me to focus on God. Just as God loves us, we should love others as well. The Holy Spirit will guide us not to sin. He also helps us to think Godly things and not things which does not please him. Because of God's love, what we do or say, it is for God's pleasure as mentioned in the paragraph above. Being a Christian also teaches me to have good virtues like honesty, honouring our parents and diligence. Here is a list of the 10 Commandments that are mentioned in the book of Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 Exodus 20:3-16

3 "You shall have no other gods before me.

4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

13 "You shall not murder.

14 "You shall not commit adultery.

15 "You shall not steal.

16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.R2

These are some of the virtues and values that I have learnt from the Bible. Please feel free to comment on this entry if you agree or disagree through the comments feature or the Shoutmix chat box.

Dinner at Niu Che Sui , Kelana Jaya

Hi, My school friend, Meng San invited me to a steamboat dinner at 100 degress on Thursday. It is at Niu Che Sui (NZX) near Kelana Jaya. It is a new place. I also invited my friends, Nicolas and Vun Jeat to go there but only Nicolas could make it. I also met another school friend, Jian Han there too. It was a gathering of a large group, i think from a Chinese church. Do you know that I have not seen Meng San and Jian Han for 7 years already? Time flies so quickly. After Form 5, then I went to Taylor's College for a year and later 3 years in Monash University. I am working for almost 2 years already. We did not seen each other since 2002, the year we left our alma mater, St. John's Institution. Both of them did bio-medical and I am in the IT line. It's good to meet again and have fellowship with each other. The steamboat was quite good. I like the style of steamboat which is Japanese / Korean. We ordered a set for each table and each one had our own induction steamboat pot. We can adjust temperature of the pot ourselves to let it boil or simmer. Ranges from 0 degrees to over 240 degrees. There are a variety of soups that you can choose from and these include Porridge, Bak Kut Teh, Fish Head, Herbal and Tom Yam. The restaurant has 30 varieties of sauces for the steamboat too. The mint sauce is nice. Wow! The set consists of fishballs, scallops, vegetables (Wong Nga Bak and one more), yee mee, prawns, yam, oysters or mussels, egg and others. It is a not a seafood set. Ordered a Ribena Lemon juice. Costs RM16 per person that night. Althought it may not as big as the one I always go to in Taman Cheras, it is a delicious steamboat. The deco and the ambience of the restaurant is nice. It has two floors, downstairs and upstairs. Nicolas, myself, Meng San and two others were seating in the same table. Need to take off our shoes before seating. There are seating upstairs similar to the Tatami seating at Japanese restaurants. I may write a review of this restaurant in Facebook too in the iEatClub group. I give it a rating of 8/10. Thanks Meng San for inviting me. I took some photos that night but unfortunately it was not stored in my phone. My phone has some problems saving to the memory card that night after capturing. This may be caused by battery low or memory card access problem. It happened before. This is the 2nd time. The address of 100 degress is at: 100°C Steamboat, Teppanyaki & BBQ Restaurant @ NZX H-G-01, Block A, No 2, Jalan PJU 1A/41B, Pusat Dagangan NZX, Ara Jaya, PJU 1A, 47301 Petaling Jaya For more information on Niu Che Sui and 100 degress Celsius restaurant, you can refer to these websites below: Niu Che Sui 100 degrees Celsius restaurant I have also made some of my photos public through Picasa Web Albums and FlickR. Happy Federal Territory Day!!

Hi, Wishing all readers who stays in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya a Happy Federal Territory Day!! Selamat Menyambut Hari Wilayah Persekutuan!! We have an extra day of holiday tomorrow. For those who are working in KL, we only start work on Tuesday. For your information, Federal Territory consists of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya. Putrajaya is Malaysia current administration and government centre. Labuan is located in Sabah and is a tax free zone. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. For my friends who are residing in other countries, feel free to visit Malaysia. Nice place. Great shopping centres such as Pavilion, Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens, Suria KLCC, 1 Utama and Sungei Wang. There is also a great variety of food here from Malay to Chinese to Indian to Western and Asian cuisines. We have good Japanese buffet restaurants here such as Saisaki (Wisma UOA) and Kampachea (Pavilion, Hotel Equatorial). Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will be playing in the Australian Open 2009 Men's Singles Finals in about 42 minutes time. Star Sports on Astro Channel 813 will be broadcasting live at 1630. It will be a very exciting match between the two top players currently. Roger Federer is looking for his 14th Grand Slam victory but Rafael is very strong these two years having taken the No. 1 spot from Roger. Interesting. Serena Williams won her 10th Grand Slam yesterday beating Dinara Safina 6-0, 6-3 in a one sided match. Serena controlled the game all the time. Dinara Safina can't stop her and she was not serving well yesterday. It was over in less than one hour. She is the world No.1 again thanks to her win in Melbourne this year. Congratulations to Serena Williams. Let me introduce to you a Christian song in Malay. It talks about friendship and the Christian relationship between each other. Here are the lyrics:
