We passed by people who are begging for money everyday. The question that comes to mind is whether we should help them or not. Do we give or do we not give? Monetary or food? Most of the time we just walked away or just give about 10 to 20 cents.
It is not that we do not want to help them. We have been warned and heard of cases where the beggars / people in need asking for money are not genuine cases. They may appear to be pitiful or limping but they may be putting an act thus our givings will end up in vain. There are definitely some who are impostors and we will get swindled by them. It is very hard to identify genuine ones. We can feel bad after these incidents yet if we give, the money may end in the wrong hands.
I do give a small amount sometimes but usually I ended up without giving them. I may also buy one or two packet of tissues from them.
Should we show sympathy and give to some beggars / people asking for money or all of them? What do you think?
